A majority of film critics have come down hard on the movie, specifically citing Miley's acting as "stiff" and "unconvincing." Here are excerpts of what they had to say about the flick, which opens this week...
A more convincing star could make this a degree more tolerable, although in Cyrus's defense not much more. Allegedly, this is the film in which Cyrus gets all, like, dramatic. If by 'dramatic' one means pouty, sullen, and cute, then OK. -- The Boston Globe
Acting, for the moment at least, seems almost entirely beyond her... she pouts, slouches, storms in and out of rooms and occasionally cracks a snaggle-toothed smile, but most of the time she seems to be mugging for the camera, play-acting rather than exploring the motives and feelings of her character. -- The New York Times

The Hannah Montana star's new song, "Party in the USA"—which will supposedly appear on an EP to promote Cyrus' new Walmart clothing line—has found its way onto the Internet, rocking the Web with the awesome force of a 100-megaton explosion.

Miley Cyrus to Play Batgirl in Dark Knight Sequel?

According to reports, Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus is lobbying for the role of Batgirl in the upcoming sequel to the Batman movie The Dark Knight. Cyrus is apparently so interested in landing the part that she recently "stunned" producers at Warner Bros. to audition for the part in a full-on batsuit!

"She was sort of hopping around the room and had even written some dialogue for herself," claims a source. "The problem is, some people aren’t really convinced Miley has the acting chops to pull it of."

Miley Cyrus: “I’m Really Into High Fashion”

The star tells Elle of her new Walmart collection with Azria, “Literally this is going to be good for, like, Middle America, and it will be great for kids that really want to be in fashion but that don’t have it available.” The collaboration will hit Walmart stores in early August, but Miley is already playing favorites, citing the jeans as her “favorite part of the entire line.” Although, when it comes to denim shopping for herself, the young star knows no limit, “I would pay $500 for the jeans that we make for $20. I’m really into high fashion.” And with a glamorous life filled with premieres and parties, it’s almost hard not to be. “The most fun thing about prom is having that one special night when you dress up and you feel like a princess, and honestly, I get to do that one night a lot,” says Miley. But, even though she is a superstar, she still has to listen to her parents. “My dad won’t let me fix my teeth or cut my hair. He loves it. He’s like, ‘It’s you!’” says Miley, who has no problem with her dad’s rules. “I like these crooked. I love my teeth.”

Variety is reporting that teen queen Miley Cyrus is teaming up with super sexy Aussie dad Hugh Jackman in a remake of The Bodyguard. This surprising news comes after the two were spotted dining at Morton's Steakhouse with movie executives a few weeks ago.

The remake, called Personal Security, will have Jackman playing a NYC police detective who is forced to become the bodyguard of a spoiled teen heiress who is involved in a kidnap threat.

Miley Cyrus was "fooling around" in her dressing room on the set of The Last Song in Georgia and someone documented the posing pics!!!

Producer/director Adam Shankman took to his Twitter to posts the pictures and then became surprised when it was deemed controversial!

"Miley is a sweet angel who works tirelessly and endlessly, and is allowed to have fun in the make up room! Seriously! Lighten up or no more behind the scenes pics! She's like my angel little sister," tweeted Shankman.

When your 16-year-old sweet angel little sister mounts a chair and you feel the need to show it to the world, it's gonna raise some eyebrows!

But seriously with all the photos out there of miley, this rele isn't that shocking,....

Country singer Billy Ray’s daughter didn’t disappoint her Hannah hordes as she signed autographs wearing a £2,400 Hervé Léger dress that made her look every inch the pop princess she plays in her screen double life as schoolgirl Miley Stewart.

Miley Cyrus Tweets About Miss USA Contestant Carrie Prejean

Miley Cyrus and Miss USA contestant Carrie Prejean don't see eye to eye on the issue of gay marriage—and the Hannah Montana actress is making the distinction known via the magic of Twitter.

Though she lost the Miss USA competition on Sunday, Miss California Prejean made headlines this week, due to her answer to a judge's question about the legalization of gay marriage.

"In my country, and in my family, I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman," Prejean replied.


Now Cyrus has reached out to that particular judge, letting him know that—despite her own devotion to the Lord's teachings—she sits on the opposite side of the fence from the beauty-pageant contestant when it comes to the topic of gay marriage.

"That's lame!" Cyrus wrote in a series of tweets that began yesterday morning. "God's greatest commandment is to love. and judging is not loving. thats why christians have such a bad rep. "

Later, she added, "Jesus loves you AND your partner and wants you to know how much he cares! That's like a daddy not loving his lil boy cuz hes gay."
