Black Eyed Peas perform at Super Bowl Video

Black Eyed Peas perform at Super Bowl Video XLV Halftime Show: Missing the feeling

In theory, the Black Eyed Peas are the perfect band to play at the Super Bowl halftime show. They’re glitzy, entertaining, and it’s hard to believe that any sporting event of the last five years hasn’t played a song by the group at some point during play. Yet, they seemed to fall short during the halftime show — standing up in front of a live crowd of more than 100,000 people, the Black Eyed Peas seemed… well, as small as peas themselves. The dancers surrounding them might have had to adhere to strict choreography, but the Peas, merely standing next to each other in a line, looked awkward, as if they didn’t have a concrete plan for what would happen after they descended from the sky (a cool effect, I’ll admit) at the beginning of the show. No matter how many awesome LED effects they could distract us with, you couldn’t mistake the fact that we were watching a small pack of four musicians — with plenty of sound problems.

The foursome began singing their feel-good hit, “I Gotta Feeling” and were quickly set off-balance as soon as Fergie’s mic cut off as she began her portion of the song. They followed up with a shrug-worthy “Boom Boom Pow,” and then shifted gears a tad: Out came Slash, playing “Sweet Child O’ Mine.” (The Super Bowl halftime show isn’t the Super Bowl halftime show without an aging rock star!) The guitarist, however, did add some much-needed musicality to the event — that is, until Fergie began singing. As stellar a vocalist the Black Eyes Peas singer might be, classic rock certainly is not her strong suit.

Then came “Pump It” and “Let’s Get It Started,” but the Black Eyed Peas didn’t quite hit their stride, strangely enough, until they began the politically-charged “Where Is the Love,” performed against the backdrop of Valentine’s Day-appropriate red hearts that experienced some technical difficulties of their own — part of that pesky “V” refused to light up. (And, surprise surprise, will.i.am changed the lyrics to the tune during the show.) Usher came along to play as well, handling his “OMG” song-and-dance routine much better than he has in previous live performances. And, shockingly, the band sounded best performing what might just be their worst song to date, “The Time (Dirty Bit).”

But tell me, football and Black Eyed Peas fans: What did you think of the halftime show? Time of your life? Or time to make them stop?

Black Men Earn Money

Black Men Earn Money

Blacks and other minorities made significant gains in education and income during the past decade, but White men still make the most money, government data show.
On average, a White man with a college diploma earned about $65,000 in 2001 while Black and Hispanic men with college degrees earned 30 percent less. White women who are college graduates made about 40 percent less than White men, according to the Census Bureau.
And while almost half of Asians age 25 and older have graduated from college--nearly twice the rate of Whites--Asians still earned about 8 percent less than Whites.
Differences in income between White men and minorities were slightly lower on other educational levels. Black men with high school diplomas earned about 25 percent less than similarly educated Whites, and Black men with master's degrees earned 20 percent less than their White counterparts.
The figures come from the Census Bureau's annual look at educational achievement in America, culled from a March 2002 survey. While gaps exist, the bureau found record high educational levels for every group and the nation overall.

Sofia Black D Elia Proud of Skins

Sofia, Black D'Elia: Proud of Skins, No Fan of Snooki

Sofia Black D’Elia stars on the controversial new MTV show Skins.

As Tea, a teenage lesbian, she knows the show is bound to raise eyebrows, but defends her work on it despite the early pull-out of advertisers.

“Ss an actor on the show I’m proud of everything that we’ve done,” Sofia tells Steppin' Out. “We created something that we really care about."

"We feel the show has so much heart and potential and can impact so many teens,” Sofia said. “If people are going to focus on a 17-year-old having a sex scene as opposed to the rest of the entire series, there’s nothing else I can really say."

"I think those people are missing out. For parents who are afraid to let their children watch the show, they probably have some serious trust issues with their kids if they think they can be that easily persuaded by a television series."

Of parents calling this the worst show ever, she says, "I think they need to talk to their kids. There’s a serious lack of communication if they’re not letting them watch a one-hour scripted drama with the hopes they won’t get into trouble."

“We’re not raising America’s children, parents are! If you’re nervous about it, watch it with them. Maybe it will be a great conversation starter on topics they normally aren't comfortable talking about with their kids, like sex and drugs."

Surprisingly insightful stuff, no?

The hot new MTV show is rivaling Jersey Shore in the ratings, but Sofia isn’t among the legions of fans enamored by its pint-sized star, Snooki.

“I’ve never been impressed with anything Snooki has done,” she said, but did compliment the blockbuster hit as “funny and entertaining.”

Black Eyed Peas Shakira at French music awards

Hips don't lie: Shakira dons stunning tight black dress to join Usher, Black Eyed Peas and more at French music awards

She-wolf Shakira was the belle of the ball as she stalked the red carpet at the 12th annual NRJ Music Awards in Cannes last night.
The 33-year-old singer looked stunning in a tight black frock as she waved to the hundreds of fans from the red carpet at the glitzy bash.
The star also played live at the event, belting out songs Loca, from her album of last year Sale El Sol, and her World Cup anthem of last summer, Waka Waka, while hypnotising the crowds with her trademark slinky hip moves.

She also ended up one of the big winners at the ceremony, picking up gongs for International Female Artist of the Year and International Song of the Year for her World Cup hit.
It's the first time the star has been seen out in public since she announced the break-up with her Argentinian boyfriend of 11 years - who is also her manager - earlier this month.

The couple revealed in a joint message on Shakira's website that they actually broke up last August, but had kept it private until their announcement.
Shakira and Antonio de la Rua said they viewed their separation as temporary, and de la Rua will continue to oversee Shakira's business and career interests.
Also at the do were Jermaine Jackson, Usher, apl.de.ap and Will.i.am of The Black Eyed Peas and David Guetta.
Model Victoria Silvstedt had also donned a short black dress for the black tie event, run by French radio station NRJ.

It's the first big event of the Midem, the world's music music industry trade fair, which takes over Cannes in the south of France every January.
Other winners at the event included Justin Bieber, who won International Revelation Of The Year, Black Eyed Peas who won Best International Group and Concert Of The Year and Usher won International Male Artist Of The Year.
David Guetta equalled Shakira's two awards with Hit Of The Year for Club Can't Handle Me and the Award Of Honour.

Black And Yellow Lyrics

Wiz Khalifa: Black And Yellow Lyrics And video Song

Wiz Khalifa: Black And Yellow Lyrics
Yeah, uh huh, you know what it is
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow

Yeah, uh huh, you know what it is
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow

Yeah, uh huh, you know what it is
Everything I do, I do it big
Yeah, uh huh, screamin' that's nothin'
When I pulled off the lot, that's stuntin'

Reppin' my town when you see me
You know everything
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow

I put it down from the whip
To my diamonds I'm in
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow

Black stripe, yellow paint
Them niggas scared of it, but them ho's ain't
Soon as I hit the club look at them ho's face
Hit the pedal once, make the floor shake

Suede insides, my engine roarin'
It's the big boy, you know what I paid for it
And I got the petal to the metal
Got you niggas checkin' game, I'm ballin out on every level

Hear them haters talk
But there's nothing you can tell 'em
Just made a million
Got another million on my schedule

No love for a nigga breakin' hearts
No keys, push to start

Yeah, uh huh, you know what it is
Everything I do, I do it big
Yeah, uh huh, screamin' that's nothin'
When I pulled off the lot, that's stuntin'

Reppin' my town when you see me
You know everything
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow

I put it down from the whip
To my diamonds I'm in
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow

Got a call from my jeweler, this just in
Bitches love me 'cause I'm fuckin' with their best friends
Not a lesbian, but she a freak though
This ain't for one night, I'm shinin' all week, ho

I'm sippin' Cliquot and rockin' yellow diamonds
So many rocks up in my watch I can't tell what the time is
Got a pocketful of big faces
Throw it up 'cause every nigga that I'm with tailored

Yeah, uh huh, you know what it is
Everything I do, I do it big
Yeah, uh huh, screamin' that's nothin'
When I pulled off the lot, that's stuntin'

Reppin' my town when you see me
You know everything
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow

I put it down from the whip
To my diamonds I'm in
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow

Stay high like how I'm supposed to do
That crown underneath them clouds can't get close to you
And my car look unapproachable
Super clean but it's super mean

She wanna fuck with them cats, smoke weed, count stacks
Get fly, take trips and that's that, real rap
I let her get high, she want and she feel that
Convertible drop fill, '87 and the top peel back

Yeah, uh huh, you know what it is
Yeah, yeah, uh huh, you know what it is
You already know what it is, man
And if you don't, you should by now

Reppin' my town when you see me
You know everything
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow

I put it down from the whip
To my diamonds I'm in
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow

Yeah, uh huh, you know what it is
Everything I do, I do it big
Yeah, uh huh, screamin' that's nothin'
When I pulled off the lot, that's stuntin'

Reppin' my town when you see me
You know everything
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow

I put it down from the whip
To my diamonds I'm in
Black and yellow, black and yellow
Black and yellow, black and yellow
