I look after 250+ macs across 8 advertising companies across 3 countries.
All of them are bound to our AD & use MS Exchange for e-mail. All users login with their AD credentials, map network drives & login & have screen savers etc enforced.
Our environment is 80/20 in favour of PC's, but on a day to day basis the mac users happily work along side the PC users.
We use JAMF Softwares Casper Suite to manage our Macs via policies (incl. application updates) & we're fully SOX compliant.
They can be a great asset to any environment, but if you want just the office suite a PC is the better option.
However, as day to day working becomes more media rich.. the macs are becoming more prominent.
We've very few applications that require windows only, but in those cases there's options like Citrix, CrossOver or a full VM solution that can help too.
So with little research, they can work.

Geektool is a common one.
you can apply themes with geektool? I did not know this, ive never done much with it before, just a few scripts for weather and stuff

I believe it is called ProTapper but is doesn't seem to be updated for 4.0 and greater according to Cydia

How do you open localized strings?
Using qlmanage -p or vim, you can see the contents, but they look compiled.

Who gives a rats butt about Lotus Notes?
Keep it on OS/2 Warp.
Those people on whom Apple will have to rely on in the future for buying their products.
I'm pretty sure that the move to the Intel platform was mere than availibility of a power5 portable. Apple really wants to push forward in the corporate market and needs enterprise apps like Notes.
So in short, I'm one of those who gives. :mad:

There are really none of either game on the service. So far I find it works pretty well for the action/sports/racing games they have, but the cost is more of an issue ... and if I was going to hook something to my TV why not get a REAL console? OnLive has ~40 games right now.

I tried it several months ago and found it to be extremely buggy to the point that it pretty much didn't work. However the idea behind the app is exactly what I am looking for.
Has anyone used it lately with any success?

Only issue I want fixed is wifi. Disconnects a lot.
Do you have multiple iOS devices in the house? Or ones that come and go - like a friend visits and connects to your WiFi?
If so, there is an issue with some routers assigning the same IP to different devices and that will kick you off from time to time.
Resetting the router with both devices in the house will solve it. Happened to me when my Daughter visited and I connected her to my router. I kept loosing the WiFi. Then all was good after a router reboot. :)

Duff-Man says...no sucking up intended, but I will add my bit as well and say I think the new Mods are all good choices...and it is a great idea to have our mods from as many time zones as possible....good luck new Mods....oh yeah!

Macs would be an excellent choice for any business to use ... the only drawback that has prevented Apple from really getting their computers into the mainstream of Business has and will be cost.
Businesses will always look for the more cost effective way to conduct business.
To a Business ... it is not about the "user experience" ... they just need to get the job done and Windows based computers fill that void. :cool:
