Mine also moved from NSC to TSC in July 2009. I applied I-485 from CA and moved to OH in 2008. But still OH and CA falls under NSC.
The reason for the transfer might be my I-140 was filed in TSC.

I am planning on buying a house in 30 days. My company would be paying me about 2500$ rent for renting out a part of my house. This is what made me think that I would actually be able to afford house in NJ.
How would that work out? Does 2500/month become additional taxable income? My mortgage payments would be about 3500/month. If it becomes a taxable income we would be screwed big time as we would cross all limits to low tax brackets :(
Also I am a july 07 filer with PD sept 2006 and would have few years before I can get GC. So would my chances of getting a mortgage like 450k are less as I am not permanent resident?
did you guys specified non resident alien in your mortgage application and did it have any affect on rates?

Its true that Consulting companies take a good part of your BILL-RATE but other stuffs may not be THAT bad.
I'm working thru such a small company for last 3 years and this is my 4th client... 3 of the 4 clients were provided by them, no bench so far. They dont give me BillRate share but we work with a Negotiated Resonable salary based on the Cost of Living of the City where i work/consult for.....
Discuss the Terms and put in email as well as Paper before Joining - Be on Top of them even if they want to change a single spelling in that Terms Paper. You got to be very tough , aggressive as well as resistive with them for any changes they want to script against you.
I have been working for state government from past 3 years (approx) under a non-caped H1b with EB2 2006 labor cleared and i-140 pending and 485 filed in aug.
Considering the constraints of non-cap h1b , I asked a consultant to apply for my caped h1b in april. At that time 485 was not current and according to my estimation my PD would not have become current for 2-3 years more, so I thought of moving with a caped h1b to private firm. You all know what happened in july regarding 485.
Recently my caped H1b got approved. Since I have already filed for 485, I have decided to be with present firm for 6 months then think of changing using the new caped h1b and AC21 to private firm through consultant.

I guess amending would be a far cheaper option than filing for a new visa , so that I can get a fresh approval.
Also could you tell me if telling them that the opportunities company wanted to employ me for in the US vanished over the recession, since its genuine that many cmopanies faced such situations.Would that be taken as negative or as an inability of my company or myself for the need of a visa now ?
The thing is that if I say someone was sick or I used the time for studies, and if they ask for a supporting proof, that would be trouble.
Pls advice on that last part and thanks again for the wonderful service.

This is weird. I thought a lot of people have got EAD but did not get AP. Of course some people have got both. Can anyone shed some light on how they approve AP? In what order? I believe quite some people have travel plan during the coming months.
Is this something to be concerned about, getting AP before EAD , both are of course 124 days since receipt date.

Hello,Our organization is limited to issues with employment based immigration. your friends case seems like a Family based Case and we do not have the right people to help you with your friends situation.

Hello guys,
I e-filed my EAD renewal in July 3rd, did my FP in August 1 and I still don't have my card.
I opened a Service Request last week since it's been way beyond the "regulatory" 90 days and I got a letter yesterday basically saying that "even though my case is serious, I didn't provide them with an extreme reason to expedite the issuing of the card". Then on a separate line they have: "pending security clearance".
What in the world is an "extreme" reason to get my EAD renewed?? And why is it pending a security clearance if It's already been more than 120 days and it's a "renewal" -not a new card!!
My original EAD expired in 8/10 (I never used it) and my H1B will expire in 1/21/2009.
Anyone got the same thing? What can I do here?

Can someone please tell me the entire process involved to bring parents to U.S as Visitors.I know few things but am very confused about the documents we need to send and needed application forms .
I went through vfs site for required documentation (I know we should book the interview date through vfs-usa site.)
They mentioned DS-156 and I-134 forms. where to get these forms from?
What are the documents that should be sent from U.S
What about the financial support proof. Should we show specific amount as proof of support for each person visiting?

Have a query in regard to the H1B Visa status. Would it be ok to work for a different branch of the same company, when my unit is not able to provide me with the required number of hours/week. I work for a hospital as a physcial therapist, and am having trouble maintaining the full time hrs, Other units of the same hospital are desperately in need of the therapists.(But working for them would be under different tax id and also would be a seperate pay check, but the same hospital though).
Any answers would be highly appreciated.

yes, i did receive my ead card for 2 years renewed. here is the part that every one will be surprised and will like is that, this time, they gave my ead renewal starting from the date that it will expire this year. it usually used to be from the date they process the ead renewal application, in which case, we usually use some months since we will apply 2-3 months earlier. atleast this time, we are getting the bang for the buck, since i am reasonably confident that, i have atleast full 2 years of wait to receive my GC (my pd is jan 2003). keep in mind i am a highly optimistic person for the above confidence. though the reality is i may need to wait atleast 5-6 years before i get my GC. i am not kidding and i am serious abt this.
That is a good thing... Anyway, this evening i got mail (n txt msg too) for my approval/card production. It took exact4-wks. I hope to get it by weekend and really wish this to be the last one and GC to come my way by this fall.

If you have not completed your 6 years (or you have an approved 140) then you can find an employer to file a new H1B and you will not be counted against H1B cap. Do the premium and reapply for visa at the consulate. Try to carry a proof that your employer has declined to provide you with the documents requested.
Secondly, please post what documents consulate requested you to submit - I am sure one of the IVans will post you with alternatives. If one of the documents happens to be your personal credentials, wage statements and etc - even if you reapply with new employer, you will be no different than what you are now. I received my FP notice. My Lawyer also received my FP notice which he mailed it to me. Now I have two copies. Which copy should I carry for my FP appointment? Does it matter?

Doesnt matter which copy you bring. Attend the FP that is important. They will stamp your notice and sign it. Keep that copy for your records

My attorney received an email notice of I-140 approval (PP) on Mon, June 25. But the online case status showed the application as pending. Finally,today my attorney called and was told that due to "system glitch ", approval notices were sent out in error!! It seems this has done to others too!!
