Those are some funny ass comments. But like skip2 said, nothing has changed. Haters always bash every new Apple product.

Yes, you are right, but the story itself, in the little I've seen of it is just more of the same, but I have not given up. I'm hoping to get back into it this weekend. :)
Keep with it. The campaign is quite good, in my opinion. Oh, and also, make sure you stay through the credits. ;)
I am still working my way through the single player on legendary but once I am done I'll check out the firefight mode. I really liked a similar mode in Gears of War so I could see myself getting into that.
At its core, it is very similar to Horde mode from GoW2. You fight against waves and waves of Covenant, scoring points along the way. It was a little rough around the edges when they first did it in ODST, but now for Reach it is pretty awesome. You can do Matchmaking for it, if you want. Or you can set it up, and play custom versions. You can also play it in Versus mode, where it is 2v2; one team of 2 are Spartans, the other 2 are Elites. Spartans are trying to score points, Elites are trying to stop them. When the round is over, or the Spartans are out of lives, you switch sides, and see which team can end up with the most points in the end. It is a blast.
There is also a mode that Bungie created called "Gruntpocalypse" where it is nothing but waves and waves of Grunts, with the "Grunt Birthday Party" skull turned on. It sounds very basic, but killing hundreds of Grunts, the confetti popping out of their heads, and hearing the kids cheer YAAAAYY every time you headshot them just never gets old. :D

Pop music sells because it's catchy, easy for people to follow, and speaks to more people at the right time.
Pop music is almost never rated due to technical musical talent. Never has, never will be. It's because the casual ear isn't listening for that. It's listening for whatever speaks to them. Pop music, thus, is rated on a completely different level.
True story. What could be Bobby Mcferrin's least technical-savvy musical piece? One done with the most simplicity and the least use of his talent happened to be "Don't worry be happy." Now I dare most people here to actually mention the name of one Bobby Mcferrin song outside of that and maybe his cover of "Baby you can drive my car." It took that simple song to make Mcferrin a temporary superstar, until he stepped out of the limelight. Obviously, the rules for what earns you awards in the Pop music culture, was not for him.
The Beatles, as they went forward. Like Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, did bring some nice *a-typical* styles to the pop-culture. There's a number of pretty big bands that actually followed that. But they never quite made it overly technical to lose people. Hitting it big in pop is something people not so great in instrument-playing can be awesome at. They just need songwriters that truly understand what the majority can truly relate to.
Then on the other side, you have Frank Zappa. Writes crazy and weird songs. Had a group with absolutely incredible musical talent, and played a lot of music that really lost the casual ear. Fun guy for technical heads to listen to, but the casual ear would not catch on. To a degree, the formula was often the opposite of catchy.

This is the correct one:
https://depot.info.apple.com/batteryexchange/index.html
That appears to be separate from the one at
https://support.apple.com/ibook_powerbook/batteryexchange/index.html
The first one look like an earlier recall although it affects some of the same model batteries.

Anyone above the age of five knows they'll have their fingers snapped off if they touch my iMac screen... and that includes Lord Jobs!
And that's not just because he didn't reply to my email!:)
But seriously, I barfed RAM chips when that stupid broad demonstrated the HP Touchsmart. It's the worst thing I've seen for years. Why would Apple go down that road?

I'm a student about to go to uni and have worked ALL summer holidays to save up for an imac, and now i hear they will be updating it! I'm still within my 14 day 'no questions asked' return period, but i will be out of that period on 12th september which its supposed to be released.
I was just wondering if anyone had past experiences with apple when going from PPC to intel- is there a 30-day period or something where if you brought a PPC imac, they would exchange it to the intel based imac as a good-will gesture. If they do then fantasti- no need for me to send it back and wait to see if the rumour comes true (and leave myself without a computer in the meantime)
I'm studing computer science and am a heavy user, so ANY speed increases are very welcome. bring on the coore 2 duos! I was a PC user since beginning of time (thats all my parents brough lol) but now ive gone to mac and osx, theres no looking back.
dont get me wrong, the imac is QUICK with 2GB RAM, but core 2 duo is faster....
any help would be really appreciated.

Mac OS X 11.0? Seriously?
You mean Mac OS XI?
Maybe there's room for an X-11 pun in Apple's naming scheme say if the 1s were index fingers, indicating a unix touch interface.
And yes, I'd love a touch interface for X.7 and don't care about names. Not being able to touch the screen is bordering on frustrating nowadays. I'd still be happy for an optional keyboard (typing, key command shortcuts, I use them all the time), but moving stuff with a mouse is just inefficient now.
I can see value in tossing out legacy OS X code for 'new' iOS code and making a clean-start for the next Mac operating system, like OS X was for OS 9.
Given Apple's success getting Mac OS developers to move to native OS X, you'd have to wonder what the success rate would be moving to an entirely new touch OS. It's not that developers are slow, as much as 'the majority' of customers are even slower, so there's no incentive for developers.
However, if you sell it as a new line of products, that's a discontinuity that might be perceived as 'new growth' instead of an upgrade/backward compatibility nightmare. You know how managers and stock analysts just love 'new growth areas' and tech sites just love 'new and shiny'.
Might be another genius move by Steve Jobs to solve the age old problem of backward compatibility. Just start a new product line! I guess we'll find out in less than 60 days now (if the rumours are correct).
Can't wait.
P.S. Touch iMacs and MacBooks would have to be wedge shaped, higher at the back for better viewing angle. That stand thingy is the right idea, just think outside the box a little morethe cooling would probably run left-right, not up as iMacs run now.

I agree and disagree.
agree that the mono mixes are better. but leave the stereo ones alone. they can remaster them if they want... but I dont think the actual mixes should be messed with. I certainly dont trust Sir Paul to be sitting in front of the mixing console saying to George martin "hey, can we turn up the sap?" if all the beatles were alive, maybe. but I'd rather them release the albums with both Stereo and mono mixes on them. like Beach boys did with Pet sounds (and its still only 12.99)
Sounds like a plan. Agreed, Paul shouldn't be left alone at the console! The result is: Let it Be...Naked.
But remastering is critical. As is easy access to what was originally intended: mono.

So nothing but small add ons for half a decade? That's still pretty sad.

why would u really need a better resolution for the iSight?
Use it as a video/security/iChat/Games camera.
Use it for higher quality still shots.
Have improved video chat quality when real broadband speeds available. I have 1meg up 8meg down, that should be fast enough for some decent video.
its stupid
all most people do is take funny pics of them-selves and do iChat
Because the current quality is so low...
And I think you'll find that people do more than that.
And even if thats all they do why not have a higher resolution? Seems plenty of people are doing these things.
if u increase the quality of the iSight for iChat, then it slows the video down
it also will be jerky because the file is large
If you have average machines and broadband yep it does. Whereas if you have more potent dual intel machines, mpeg4 and decent ADSL2+ etc, then you can get better quality video...iChat can already support 4 people communicating now, so 2 communicating with higher bandwidth should be easy *sigh*
and a wireless iSight will just make iChat even slower
Really? How fast is wireless...mmm...up to 54mbps...how fast is decent broadband...1-2mbps up stream...gee wireless is like 25x faster than it needs to be to keep the frame rate up for broadband. Even at range it should be faster.
And there are PLENTY of high end (Axis etc) wireless security cameras out there right now using G to pump back MPEG4 video wirelesly. I even have one.
Maybe you should do some research first before calling people stupid ;)

People still shop at Radio Shack for more than just oddball connectors, batteries, etc.?
Thats all I ever get there. Pretty much everything else they sell is overpriced.
Everything there is overpriced. Their cables and connectors are usually 2x what they would cost from a respectable store! Typically when a part costs $12, I'll tell them I'll give them $5. They usually take it bc it's only worth 5

What does it matter? The more sales the better, right?

I'll make this point again... How is what Apple is doing any different than what Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony do with approvals for applications on their devices? If anything, Apple should be commended for giving everyone access to the development environment at a significantly reduced cost. The reason for the approval process is clear: they want to do QA before the product is released because if something bad happens, every news organization will feature headlines about it for a week.
I don't recall massive outcry from the devs on those other platforms. Why do you think that is?

If all religious people read the Bible literally they would stone me on site for being an atheist, they would hate homosexuals. Instead, people pick and choose the parts of the Bible they like based upon their own morality.
You are entitled to your opinion and I respect your right to have it, but how about we keep the misinformation to a minimum.
The Bible does not instruct believers today to stone or hate anyone. Please don't take things out of context. I agree that people do pick and choose (as you did in your post) the parts of the Bible they want to follow or use to justify their views and choices. In most cases they are taking these parts out of context on purpose or simply do not understand what they are reading or how it fits into the whole of the Bible.
This has been discussed in many threads and maybe later I'll reference the links, but simply put, please don't tell others the Bible instucts people to do things that it doesn't.
As far as what barkomatic is saying, sometimes I really wonder if people on here have a problem with reading comprehension. He's not arguing for religion. He's just saying that without some type of direction, mentoring, structure, wisdom, objective standards, etc. etc. that human beings have a tendency to become selfish. For this reason he thinks there is value in a book like the OP is referencing. Some of you are reading into what he is saying and debating points that he's not even making.

755.53 is a GREAT PRICE!!!!
Aaah my ibook G4 12" 800Mhz dies last week (HD failure) and my Powerbook G4 12" 1.33 has only 256MB ram and runs slooowly.
I've got the money know to buy one but originally I have been saving up for a Mac Pro after MWSF '07.
What do to - what to do???
yeah, I just purchased that one with burgundy bag :)
Was going to get the black as it would have been similar priced when you upgrade the white version to 120gb. But 100+ for an extra 40gb isn't worth it

Finally beat the game with a buddy online. My opinion: story blows. Oh no, another so very mellow suicide attempt to help the group. There was no emotion to the deaths of the members. It just happened, and we moved on, forgot about it, and press another random button or find ourselves at another random location after the last level. I just fell from the sky into the mountains....now I have walked to the nearest city, where my team happens to be..... Also last level just does not work with the rest of the games damage characteristics.
As far as gameplay, just another Halo, much better for multiplayer. I think all previous Halo multiplayer maps should be added.

Technically it's not MP that's the issue. It's pixel density.
Given the perfect conditions and equal image sizes (I.e. All the images at 2MP) the results will be almost indistinguishable between a phone, point and shoot and a D-SLR.
Comparing the 5MP iPhone 4 sensor to a 12MP Point & Shoot and a 40D the difference between the iPhone 4 and the P&S and 40D will be significant.
Simply: 40D @ 10MP >> TZ8 @ 12MP >>> iPhone 4 @ 5MP.
