The reason I am doing paper based is that current immigration question. In efile you have to make a selection which apparently doesnt have the AOS option. On paper based we can put, Adjustment of Status (I-485 Pending).

This pretty much guarantees H-1 for small businesses. With the already reduced number of H-1 applications, you are a shoe-in for H-1 if you apply this year from a small company.

For every IV member that gets their GC, would it be too much to ask them to contribute say at least $100/- ? May be this can become a norm and the starting point for an "IV Alumni" :)
The folks who will be getting their GC's in the next 2 months can show the way - Along with posting the happy news that you got your GC and of course posting your RD and ND and PD and the fact whether you had AC21 or EAD or whatever :), will it be too much to give something back to the community that helped you all the way?
I think this would be a noble gesture in support of this organization that has supported the cause of lots and lots of employment based immigrants.

My employer has not provided copy of labor or I-140.
I am not planning to use AC-21 as my employer and work profile is good. But say if there is some thing unplanned happens, and if I need to change jobs, what can I do?

Forgot/didn't know about A# mentioned on my I-140 approval and did not mention it on I-485 application/EAD/AP. will it be an issue??
If it is mentioned in I-140 approval, do we supposed to write in I-485 and other applications? As I understand, A# is registration # and which is assigned when I-485 is accepted? Please somebody confirm it.

You will need to pay for every renewal.. I have paid twice so far... Good for USCIS to make money...

if your wife has chosen Consular processing when filing I-140, it is possible to go ahead with concurrent applications
Hi Friends,
I have applied for my I485 last month and received receipt numbers this week. At the time I consulted my company lawyer and he said it is possible apply from your wife's company for both of us and when USCIS gets to approving one application they will ask other one to be withdrawn.
The reason I asked and agreed to do so was manily because of the VERY unstable condition our my job. My wife's job is more stable than mine.
Now we are try to apply from my wife's company, her lawyer is saying that we can not have more than one I485 pending, had I known this - it more based on interpretation from the lawyers I would not have applied for my application just applied for my wife's.
Hoping that nothing may happen should I drop the idea of applying for I485 from my wife's company. Although my hope line is too thin.
My question is has any on in similar situation applied for 2 I485s. I am really confused as my lawyer says that it is possible and my wife's lawyer says it is not possible to have 2 pending I485 applications..

But I think it's thanks to CBN who pulled the consulate to Hyd when they were debating to have the consulate in Hyd or Bangalore. From what I know YSR govt just boomed up the realty prices but nothing else, though realty went up in other parts of the country too.
PS: I'm not very sure if it was CBN who got the consulate to Hyd but just expressed my thoughts as we are talking about consulate/Hyd/how proud we should be etc in this thread.For those who know better or disagree with me please feel free to do so by posting in the thread but not by giving red/accompanying mssgs. Interesting..If I visit VFS in person when I'm in Chennai, How soon will I get the appointment. My visa expires in Feb'07 and I'm going to Chennai for 3 weeks in Nov. So If I don't get appt I can always try for the next trip..
As said they have seprate quota for 'Returning workers' . I have used it. I went to VFS on 23rd nov 2005 and got appt for 30th Nov 2005.

I am just curious if a new employer can keep extending h1b based on previous employers I140 (and the fact that 180 days have passed since 485).

I would not worry about it at this point, this seems to be an internal matter, cases are often transferred to other service centers for speedy processing, sometimes it could be an error also, whatever this might be, this is not something you have control over. If the I-140 becomes overdue you should have your employer call or write to the service center.

I know it includes FB application but that is easily offset by EB-CP also seeking visa numbers.
So the wait time is really very long for July 2007 filers with later PD.

The premise is that a recession will lower demand for worldwide numbers which will then flow to retrogressed categories due to the AC21 rule.

I dont know of any insurance companies that cover pre-existing conditions..the older one is more the more expensive insurance is and not to mention pre existing conditions and all toehr terms and conditions jargon........ so be very careful... and good luck with your situation...
