Just to clarify your answer for my first question, do you say moving the the new company before applying for H1B extension is alright (safe)?
I am asking because my 6 years ends on December 1st this year, so if I move in June this year and immediately apply for extension, I should be alright correct?
Also, how will I apply for the extension? Do I just need to send the copy of the I-140 approval notice? What about the fact that my current employer has actually submitted the petition and my job-description etc? I guess if someone could explain this a bit more, I would really appreciate.

Master's and higher, outside US has to be in the STEM fields to qualify.
Good. That means if you have STEM Masters and 3 years US experience then at the time SKIL comes to effect you can file 485 without waiting for PD if 140 was already approved by then. OR can file concurrently.

Please be positive. What is wrong in signing petition? If you are not convince, don't sign. Please don't discourage others.
These online petitions are useless. Do not sign up for them and waste your time. If you really want to do something for the bill then go and meet your senators and congressmen and talk about the bill and other bills that solve your problems.

I think something is missing here. How did they find out ?? Did they take you in for secondary inspection?? taxes?? If your university allows online classes, you might be able to finish your courses online and complete the required coursework(i.e. ofcourse if you dont need to finish thesis or defend project work) the university should be able to confer you a degree.... might be worth chatting with the international office.

Today my attorney filed my 485 with e-reciept of 140. My employer told that they didnt recieved reciept notice by mail so My attorney used 140 e-reciept for 485 filing.

hi ,
Here is my situation.
(employer) -> (middle vendor ) -> prime vendor -> (End client ).
I am working to a client in california in the above mentioned order. After 1 year we got rid of middle vendor and prime vendor is working with my employer directly . Now middle vendor is threatning me that he can sue me for breaking the line of contract .
i dont understand ho can even its possible as i never signed any document with middle vendor and he is not even my employer . He is just acting as middle layer by showing prime vendor that i am his employee which is wrong. now we removed him from line of contract and he is saying that he will sue all of us for doing this.
is there any way that he can even do this ?

Since you already applied there is nothing you can do other than renewing your passport. Try to do emergency renewal.
My lawyer asked me to renew PP to be on the safe side before we filed my AOS.

Hi,
I came to US in 2004, my H1 visa was sponsored by cognizant technology solutions. H1 was valid from Nov 04 to Dec 06. later on my I 94 was extended from Dec 06 to July 09 .
I changed company and joined wipro in Aug 08 and now my I 94 is now valid till July 2010.
I have never gone back to India for a visit ever since I landed in US (2004)..I now want to go to India for few months and have read that i'll have to get my visa stamped before reentering US...
My question is if i'll have any problems with visa stamping because I was originally working with cognizant and am now working with wipro?..Am I out of status since my original visa expired in 2006 ?...pls help

My parents travelled both on Cathay and JAL. Cathay has better food , but the flight to SFO is really long. They had used JAL before which has approx 8-10 hrs for each leg. Also, on the return , there is a days halt , so they provide a hotel. My parents took a small tour of the area too.

I am a new member based in CT. I am glad I attended the december 25th meeting at Stamford, CT. Himanshu presided over the meeting and gave us lot of new information about what's going on in the immigration world and how Immigration Voice is helping out.
I think instead of fighting our battle alone if we come together and voice our problems there is a better likelihood of a positive outcome. Immigration voice can help us channelize our efforts and get the necessary immigration status.
I don't want to wait half my life getting my green card. Life is short and there is no guarantee about anything but I urge everyone affected to join this movement. We are in a capitalistic country and nothing ever happens without necessary funds so I urge you to please donate generously. If you never buy a lottery you can never win it . It's a bad analogy but I hope you get the point :)

You need to be a credentailed teacher to get a H1B in most cases. For credentialing, you either need a B Ed from India or complete the teacher credentailing program in US. For the credentailing program, you will need to get your degree evaulated, pass the CSET exam or Praxis in some cases and finish the university requirement.
