I doubt it, first and foremost it needs to be accredited and any accredited university has a long list of requirements. However education helps in the long run for sure, but purely for GC I dont think so. I base my answer, because the bill neither passed nor has been voted on, the perfect requirements on being Skilled can be modified and so on. you be the judge

I don't think an employer can force you to repay the green card costs if you leave them as soon as you get it. That is illegal and against the law to make a foreign national pay for the costs of green card sponsorship!

Do premium process to save time.
So you will be safe. Everything can be done within 45 days, if do PP and move fast.

221 g at the consulate for the H1B petition since I didn't had the license.
Hospital withdrew the H1B petition in August 2008.

Thank you for your post. I have recently received a green card through my spouse. I used to work in New York and lost my job in 2009 but never claimed benefits as I was not a permanent resident at that time. I got my green card in Jan2011. Can I apply now for unemployment benefits in NY state? I live in NYC and we pay taxes jointly since 2007. I have been unemployed for over 2 years now and am looking for jobs at the moment since I now have an EAD. Please advise. Thanks

Wanted to know if any of you have been able to successfully Invest in Stocks/Mutual funds in Indian Market on a Repatriable basis. If so please share your experience and which brokerage you have used.
I have tried to contact various Indian brokerages like ICICIDirect, HDFC, Kotak...All say that they do not take NRI's from USA for a Brokerage account. No idea what the reason is. Please share your experience.

Thanks guys. I am going to Lake George by NY-Canada border and this seems like good info. But I am from NJ and we have the new tamper proof Drivers licenses which show immigration status and you need to produce all immigration papers to get one. Isn't that enough??

It's very simple, if you think about it... The first photo (showing dust) was taken at f/32, and the second, lacking dust, at f/2.8. A smaller aperture will not only result in a great DOF in front of the lens, but also behind it; hence, the dust will be blurred and mostly invisible at large apertures because it is slightly in front of the sensor (on the AA / IR blocking filter thing), but will pop out with tremendous clarity at small ones.

For FYI: If one is already on F-1 and applies for I-485 he/she is no longer on F-1 for all practical purposes but in a "period of stay as authorized by the attorney general". In such a case he/she can anyways use a EAD but have to have an AP while re-entering and continue studying as usual.
Note that F-1 and applied for I-485 is a highly debatable topic amongst the legal fraternity.

The main image in your homepage Ryall is almost 300KB, thats huge!!! My entire splash page is about 55KB and it involves 3ds max renders and hell of a lot of layers...it will take a bit to load for modem users (I pray for them everyday) and if you have any content that 300KB will matter when it comes to a user wanting to visit ur site again, oh yea I fixed my splash cause I changed an image on my server and it screwed with the dimensions so here is the update:

not to be cynical but what sort of "change" is on the way with CIR, if you are "illegal" sure some good change is on the way, but if you are a legal eb immigrant not sure what is in store for us, it is not necessary to be good with points based nonsense etc.
For sure visa recapture independent of CIR is the best possible outcome.
Anyway lets call lofgren and ask for visa recapture. I have already called and asked, please all of you do the same. It will give her confidence that there is support for it if all of us call.
Don't keep your expectations so low. Change is on the way ! Senate's color has changed. ;)

Do you mean we can send checks for $ accounts to be deposited into local rupees accounts in india? Does this work. Do you know how long it takes for them to get the money after each cheque deposit?
I send through Wells Fargo to ICICI bank in Inida. You can open a remmitance account with wels fargo and wire transfer yourself. Every $1000 dollars they charge $9 dollars.
Advantage is money is there in 2 days.
Simplest way is ...send your mom, post dated checks for the whole year. Mail it through Prioriy mail using USPS.....ony costs 5 dollars. She can deposit the check every month. I 've been doing it for longest time.

Now that i have my I-140 approved for over an year now and never filed for 485, does the similar/same job/field apply in case of a job change or can i have a new job responsibility with a new employer and then port my PD based upon the approved 1-140 from previous employer?
You do not need similar job. You can even move from EB3 to EB2. But you will need to start over the whole 9 yards .. have a new PERM from new employer for the new job position, apply a new 140 . during applying 140, you request CIS to allocate you the old PD.

You can take any number of salary hike but not different job duties than specified in the labor. No need to inform the labaor department. Because as per law you cannot have different job duties until you get your gc and max one year beyond that.
I am also stuck in the same boat. Infact, I got promoted with 16k hike and demoted in two months. My attorney got a apology letter signed by my VP for attorney records. It is that serious to change job duties.

they dont need tuition waiver. they pay in state anyway. Only drawback is they cant get on campus job and cant get OPT.
Advantage is they can go part time and take less coursework (dont have to take min 9 credit hrs). They can even take a semester off without worrying about status.
