This morning at Fashion Island was a success. They received probably 50 or so, almost exclusively verizon models with about 4 wifi models.
I got the one I wanted 3G, 64gb, white, but I wanted ATT. It wasn't a deal breaker to get a Verizon iPad so I am a happy camper!

Hi everyone, just joined the team.
I have an iMac core duo going at it. She isn't much with her 1.83Ghz but it'll be at it 24h a day. It's about to complete it's first WU after 1day 19hours. It sounds a bit long to me compared to the times a say reading the thread, is this normal?

Me too. Given the theme i was already picturing myself as the marquee artist of the production ;)
anyway, the situation right now is:
eldiablo: 4 (dontpanic, chrmjenkins, aggie, ucfgrad)
chrmjenkins: 1 (jav)
not voted yet: Lbro, eldiablo
not much room to maneouvre for eldiablo, except in deciding who to infect (if he hasn't done it already).
so tomorrow should be 4 vs 1 (or 5 vs 1 if the hunter is successful). with everyone with equal chances of being wolfized.
it's like starting a new game, a tricky one with two shots at finding the wolf
I wasnt the one who held up the night, since I gave my scan request to intell early, so Im guessing one of the hunters is either not playing or not participating enough. Anyway, Id appreciate the hunter protecting me from whoever gets infected.
Feel free to recommend who you want scanned.

Another pointless 666MB download for probably less than 1MB of actual update. Can Apple learn to patch its products more efficiently?

Your definition of a "professional" app seems mighty arbitrary, even to the extent of excluding most applications that exist. Specialized databases that are designed for a specific industry wouldn't meet your definition. Computer-Aided-Machining (CAM) software (which is only useful in one industry) wouldn't meet your definition. I could go on, but I think you get my point.
No, I don't get your point. CAM software is used in a variety of industries. Auto companies, airline companies, boat industries, tools industries, machine shops, agricultural industries. But if the CAM software is a mature useful standard in those industries it is probably a very capable pro app. Like wise customized databases would not be a pro app in itself. The database program used is the pro app not the specific database.
So now you're adding another level of definition to what it takes to be a "professional" app? Some percentage of people have to know about it? And where do you draw the line? Gee, I guess this means that any start-up company trying to produce a new professional application is doomed because how can they ever reach this percentage upon the release so their product can be considered "professional"?
It is not another level of defiintion. Industry standard implies that most professionals use it, Doesn't it?
Yes, it is very very difficult for a startup company to produce a competitive pro app in a mature industry. It takes several years for a product to mature and recieve user feedback and multiple modifications before I would classify it as "Pro". That is why these are difficult markets to crack.

An interesting read in response to the kernel panic ability of the .DMG vulnerability:
http://alastairs-place.net/2006/11/dmg-vulnerability/
A very insteresting read.. most of which I only barely grasp. Object oriented programming just makes my eyes glaze thinking about it.. The gist:
i don't understand why everyone is ignoring this guys' post. i'm not a computer engineer, so can someone with the right knowledge explain this a bit more? is it really adware or just a bug? :)

Poor Jon Cryer. :D
I feel worse for the kid. That initially cute and pudgy face didn't exactly grow into something that'll be useful in the industry down the line. :p

How many wifi models did they have? Particularly 32GB. My friend got out of line, wondering if he would have gotten one.
IIRC, the manager said that they only had 16GB WiFi. But I had already tuned out at that point since I was there for AT&T, so I may have misheard.

I would expect better of this place than to take bait. I bet this is a false flag out there specifically to find security holes inside Apple. Does it let you rip and play BluRay disks too?

I'm sorry, if you struggle to lose weight, you're not doing it right. Losing weight is dead easy. Keeping it off is dead easy too. Have your doctor check for any health problems which might prevent you from losing weight or recheck your food intake vs energy expenditure.
Losing weight is a very simple formula : Calories in < Calories out. Change the symbol around and you gain weight. Make it = and you keep your weight.
A lot of people don't understand this very simple mecanic which is the very basis of weight control. When you have this part down to a science, you can adjust the food intake to provide fibers/vitamins/proteins that you need.
I'm going to just assume you are young and have time on your hands. Because when I was young and had time staying trim was quite easy., Let's talk when you're in your 30's and are a busy professional

Could someone clarify this for me: Aren't hard drives too slow to make use of Thunderbolt anyway? In a typical USB 2.0 external hard drive, what is the bottleneck in speed: The speed at which the hard drive spins, or the USB 2.0 connection? If it's the USB, then why do people even care about the RPM of a drive? If it's the RPM, then isn't USB 2.0 fast enough to run a hard drive at its native speed?

Oh I forgot...yes...the "Specs" argument. My bad. AND the Closed vs. Open debate. Yes...that too. It's so open that I can't upgrade to the latest Android version, because it's not available for carrier XYZ. But that's not Android's fault, or the Phone's fault. You can root it though. That's awesome...root it, then download the newest launcher, then reset it, and do this, and do that. Then when that's all done, it's no better than it was when I started. But hey, my icons are Green! Cool...
haha, nice :)

hi everybody.
vacation was great thank you for asking :)
Intell, love the theme, of course. are you keeping it through the entire game? do we have assigned roles? :D
nothing of substance going on on day one as usual so i'll vote for ucfgrad93 again because he is the least active (only without vote, if i read the posts correctly.
and here is the current status (majority 7, deadline 5.05 pm EST)
eldiablo 2(3) (nathan, moyank) + aggie, not bolded
nies 2 (plutonius, appleguy)
plutonius 2 (nies, jav)
ibro 1 (chrmjenkins)
chrmjenkins 1 (ibro)
nathanmuir 1 (eldiablo)
ucfgrad 1 (don't panic)
didn't vote yet: ucfgrad93
for those interested, i updated stonyc spreadsheet to this game, and i'll try to keep it current
also, for clarity, when you change a vote, please don't go back to edit the original post (even by simply unbolding), just add the new bolded vote in a new post.

I was disappointed that the resolution was not updated to 1920x1200...I would assume this would have added siginificant costs? or maybe they think the current resolution is good enough and that there is little noticable difference between the current vs 1920x1200 ? Anyone else feel this is a big deal? Reasons why the higher resolution is not necessary? Thanks
On a windows machine, everything seemed absurdly small under 1920x1200, but it might not be such a problem on a mac where more stuff is scaled. I would have liked to see the bigger resolution though.

Under normal circumstances, you're more or less right. However, many supersize people have participated in crash diets, drugs and other questionable regimens over the years in search of quick-fix thinness. Doing so can, after a while, sabotage the body's normal metabolic rate and endocrine output, making it much harder for these people to find the balance in their caloric equation without depriving themselves of needed micronutrients (vitamins, minerals).
Creative positioning + bed with a good bit of "give", e.g. Memory Foam = enjoyment without that "crushing" feeling. This has served me well, and that's the best way I can explain it without going into TMI territory.
This is a great post!!!
Thank you.

I would guess part of the reason is the "White" Iphone was just released and they are hoping they can unload them all.
All I can say the new one better have a 4" screen, 8Meg Camera, More memory, IOS 5 and a faster processor. What else did I miss :)
Edit: added 4G to wish list
This is almost the standard specification for most Android phones any more so I don't think I'm asking for too much.
Backwards, they knew they were going to delay iPhone 5 so they saved white iPhone 4 so they'd have SOMETHING to release between 4 and 5.
