Aren't we quickly getting to the point where it's all about the software?
Ok, so we know iPhone 5 will get dual core A5....big deal. It'll be nice to have the extra power, but the iPhone 4 now is no slouch.
Added RAM.....yeah, that would be nice....but not going to suddenly sell more phones because it has more RAM :p
Display won't get any better resolution-wise. Doubt they'd go with a larger screen either.
Better cameras....ok.....still, the iPhone 4 cameras are no slouch, and it's not like it will reach the quality of a nice DSLR with those tiny sensors.
Better graphics processing.....sure.....but it's not like it has to drive a 9.7" screen like the iPad.
I'd say Apple is smartly switching into software mode. Kick ass with iOS5, revamp notifications, make some much needed overhauls to the system, and optimize performance for todays devices (iPhone 4, iPad & iPad 2).
Apple is going to stay ahead with software. That's the way Apple is and always has been.

You're not excited about time machine? Seems like a killer app to me. I've never seen a backup system that looked better implemented. For the huge number of us who don't have a backup system in place but know that we should, that alone makes Leopard worth the price of admission.

Yes, definitely a scandal. Steve Jobs must respond to this immediately on twitter so the word gets out about how Apple will make new White Phone's whole. More free bumpers would be the minimum, I would think. We must marshal the media and post youtube videos about this.

Here's my latest and greatest A silverstone ft02 case

It has a unique design in that it provides positive cooling. The motherboard is rotated 90 degrees, the all the air is pulled up from the bottom and push out from the top. Not the typical pulled in from the front, side and pushed out the rear, top.

Very efficient, my temps went from high 40s to mid thirties. I'm able to over clock my 2.8Ghz core i7 to 3.25 and maintain mod 30c temps.
The case is very mac like in that its a clean design, and the cutouts hides the cables. The puppy is quite silent as well :D

lbro, chrmjenkins, and jav6454 all looked around trying to figure out what planet the magic glowing button sent them to. What they saw looked a bit like a congested downtown, with office buildings and garbage everywhere. When they opened the door to get out, they where overwhelmed by a stench. A stench so great, even jav6454 could feel its burn.
With the computer unable to tell them the planet (silly operating system), they set off for the closest building. Getting nearer, they heard noises that sounded like a person being held captive. "jav6454, give me your leg." chrmjenkins asked. "My what?" "Your leg, just give it to him." lbro said. jav6454 detached his leg and hobbled along after them into the building. When they got inside, they saw a huge open room with a flower pot in the middle of it. "Well, there isn't anything in here. Let's go." jav6454 said, still wanting his leg back so he could kick lbro with it.
Just then there was a squeaking sound from the rafters. They all looked up to see the biggest mouse they had ever seen. chrmjenkins peed himself, lbro fainted, and jav6454 fell over. The mouse jumped down and started to move toward lbor. chrmjenkins, having only just met him, did not want lbro to die by the teeth of a giant mouse.
Then chrmjenkins jumped up, grabbed jav6454's leg and started to viciously beat the giant mouse with it. It only took 14 hits before the mouse was no more. It vanished into a puff of trans-dimensional smoke. Now feeling quite good about his physical abilities, he gave jav6454 his leg back and together they dragged lbro back to the ship. Yeah while Apple realizes people want their mobile smartphone to be small and portable as that is a key part of the puzzle the rest of the industry is trying to duplicate this:

That has to be one of the most fugly apps I've ever seen...
I understand the need to move forward in UI design, but since MacOS X, Apple has really thrown away the one thing that had always made the Mac better. A *consistent, well laid out UI, with consistent behaviors across all apps and OS interfaces*... Apple needs to pick a pot and sit on it, and quit this constant beating on the OS and bundled apps with the ugly stick already. It's like there's a competition inside Apple to see who's fugly "upgrade" causes 10,000+ Mac users to march on the campus w/ torches and pitchforks first..

When you think about it, the PSP could (perhaps should) have been the coolest thing since sliced bread with all its features and even movies and Sony's music service tailor-made for it. So what happened? Sony's atrocious proprietary scheme has made it a shell of what it could have been. I have a feeling MS hasn't learned any lessons since the "Works for Sure" campaign became something of a running joke.
Nintendo could have done the same thing with the DS Lite. There are addons for web, music, and video for this device and the battery life would still be on par with iPods...They, probably wisely, decided to keep the price of their device down and provide these features as accessories. Not everyone needs their portable device to do everything but the iPod, PSP, and DS Lite all have the potential for being brilliant convergence devices. Microsoft's talents in this area are still untested. The cellular companies would like their phones to be ultimate convergence devices but the are too greedy (at least in America) for their own good and most of the devices come off as buggy and overpriced...It is interesting, however, that Microsoft is willing to put their Xbox brand (which is pretty well accepted) in the untested market...

Thanks for calling me a liar. My date moved, without explanation, as quoted in the story. The only thing I can personally think of is dropping a third line from the family plan. Other than that, and thanks to autopay, my bill for the remaining two iPhones on the plan is rather expensive, and always paid in full and on time, so the other argument is invalid as well.

When we say "enough" and "runs fine" we are thinking of apps that require minimal standards. Man, when we are talking about at least quality games such as WoW, SC2, and MMO's, the difference between 320m and the Intel GPU is the difference between "playable and not playable"

Imagine the iPhone 4 sitting in the 3GS position a year from now. It will be amazing you can get a phone like that for the price it will be available for...
The current 3GS with the cheapest plan you can get from AT&T would cost you 90% of what the same plan and a 4 would cost you.
Not sure what's amazing about that, and I'm pretty sure that when the 5 is out, the 4 will end up costing roughly the same.

Considering the number of 3GS still being sold, there's a lot of math challenged iOS users out there.

I had service with T-mob (not with an iPhone) and the only difference I noticed with ATT and T=mob was the T-mob service was WAY cheaper. Its hard to imagine that will continue if ATT buys them up.

I could care less what the microsoft's EULA agreement says. If I'm able to install it I could care less if it is illegal. As long as it is only on one computer then I'm doing it. And they wonder why people pirate their software...
