Sully", 57, the US Airways pilot who saved the lives of 155 passengers by landed his stricken Airbus 320 in New York City's
Hudson River. According to
DailyMail, the Airbus was brought down by a bird-strike on the both engines a minute into the flight.
The captain - a former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot nicknamed 'Sully', of California - was hailed a hero after he managed to steer away from heavily-populated Manhattan before smoothly gliding the powerless jet down intact.
Thanks to God, all passengers on board were not badly injured...
