Florida Panthers left wing Richard Zednik, continued to improve after emergency surgery to repair a neck wound inflicted by Olli Jokinen's (teammate) skate blade.
According to a statement from Buffalo General Hospital, the 32-year-old National Hockey League player's condition was upgraded from stable to good, and he was moved from intensive care to a regular room.
Doctors are optimistic that Zednik, who had his carotid artery nearly severed during Sunday's 5-3 loss to the Buffalo Sabres, will make a full recovery and possibly resume his career as early as next season.
