it loads the webmail interface but i can't click on anything. that means the links are recognized by the cursor but nothing happens. it says error in page. so no webmail for me anymore. $99 for that? i want my old webmail back!

Seriously, I had to write papers on this crap. It's pretty awesome. I took it as a lesson on how you can win any argument by changing the rules.

Amen! Why not just release it Universal and check the other box when compiling?
Likely they are not using Xcode. If you have to maintain code that is Windows/Mac cross platform they may find it easier not to use Xcode.

I've never had any issues with the latest updates, so I don't really care with 10.4.8...but I wish Safari could be less memory-hungry, or use less virtual memory...that's all.Me too. And I wish Safari had a "Sure you want to quit?" dialog box for those times when we accidentally do a Command + Q in the dark when we thought we were doing a switch application Command + Tab.
Glad to hear it's in Leopard. But having to wait for an entirely new system version to get a little helpful dialog box in one little application seems like an expensive unnecessary delay.

This really doesn't make sense.
The word "Podcast" is derived from iPod, of course, but the CONCEPT of podcast is not inherently ipod-related. Because of that, it inherently dilutes the iPod trademark. You could just as easily call it an MP3-cast, and not have people be confused that it's coming from Apple (and the fact that Apple has been continually trying to trademark iPodcast itself for quite some time is another interesting bit of info).
The very fact that you're trying to have it cover Zune, Creative, etc. when it's derived from a specific product shows that Apple HAS to protect its trademark, particularly when another company is trying to profit from that name.
Well Steve Jobs has promoted the popularity of Podcasts, and how many are available right now from so many sources.

And yes, people could have called them MP3Casts, but using a slight derivation of the name of a very popular cultural icon shouldn't be wrong. I wonder how much Microsoft would love it if the whole world renamed their Podcast as "ZuneCast" instead?

I'm a Treo user now....
BUT, I would love an iPhone that has a "slide out" keyboard.
I worry about all this. Seems like the expectations for the iPhone are getting a bit out of hand. I'm thinking many people are going to be disappointed with a version 1.0 product.
What it will most likely do:
- Be a cell phone
- Be a great music player like iPod
What it *may* do:
- Be a great calendar client for iCal
- Support e-mail
- Have a web browser.

This is absolutely pointless and I'm sick of hearing about it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was Sony who started the campaign. Think about it. If you didn't like the X Factor song, you wouldn't buy it. But now there is this silly campaign to buy the RATM song for all the people who hate the X Factor song. Sony wins in either case.
And the reason the X Factor song is usually number one is because, well, the X Factor is popular.
These campaigns are stupid and pointless.

Yes, Cowell will benefit slightly as he has shares in Sony, but he won't benefit nearly as much as he would if X Factor was number 1. I think it's just that people are fed up of X Factor dominating the charts year after year, and they want to see something new. Myself, I don't mind the RATM song, yes if it was my choice I'd have picked another, but anything is better than the cheesy manufactured pop that comes from Reality TV singing competitions.

Apps all run in the same format and screen size. Even the new retina display is only an enlargement of the original format, but shown at the higher resolution. Apps running on the iPad run at the native format, or specifically for the iPad format, which is different code.
If Apple introduced a different sized screen, that would be a pain to the installed base and app developer. For this reason, I don't think it is true.
Not a very good argument IMO... They could maintain the same resolution and have a smaller or larger screen size.

Hmm, maybe I'm looking at it from the wrong perspective though, why don't you think it's clear?
Because most Apple products have hardware AND software so you might not know where to look for your specific issue/for the information you want.
For example if I was looking up information on the iPod Touch, there will be information on the hardware and information on the software, but they will be in different places.

Jeez. Just enjoy the thing you already bought. No use contemplating whats next. But ... a ULV SB and 3000 graphics is a decent trade off (for the 11"), the 13" can get ULV SB and 3000 graphics. (w/e its not like its that much of a difference, who plays hard core games on a machine like this and has space leftover), backlit keyboard, less bezel or a black border (not happening), HD facetime (why not), and a thiner body. Sure this is thin. Even thinner would be better :)

Growing marketshare is a lot more difficult than some of you (not all) may imagine. If Apple had a sudden increase, they would not be able to support it. They would find some suppliers who would be unable to quickly ramp up for the extra demand. Their assembly plants would be overwhelmed, as would their transportation infrastructure.
Growing their business must be performed in a strategic and systematic way. On the plus side, they have a solid cash reserve to this. But, they are extremely diverse and have new products coming down the line. The best thing they can do is increase sales in new markets, keep their profits high, maintain their lead in engineering and start increasing capacity.
Many people have posted about having a mid-level tower, highly configurable, and placed between the imac and Mac Pro. I suspect Apple would like this as well. However, it takes a different kind of assembly line to make machines like this, and still keep the price low. It also takes more work in the sales to work order process to make it happen efficiently. I think this may be a possibility once Apple can get the infrastructure in-place to manage it. They most certainly need additional manufacturing capacity right now. This could very well be in work.
Regardless, I believe Apple will end up with a significant market share and it will not be a linear growth. Going from 6%-12% will be the toughest period for them.

I think that Apple and the user community in general does itself a great disservice in touting the mhz myth as if it applied to everything. I was incredibly disappointed when I bought a G4 expecting the amazing performance attributed to the G4. It just wasn't there, a PIII at the same clock, 1 year older (and half the cost new), beat it by 10%! I felt ripped off and completely disenchancted with Apple. Things got a little better when the software I was using released a new version compiled on a newer compiler, but it was still behind by a few percentage points.

Getting the application doesn't let you play. The game is online, and you have to log into SC II with a battle.net account that has a StarCraft 2 Beta Key registered with it.
