You will have to prove that you will come back to your home country after the end of the H1B. Look at page 237 of the new bill. It has the following:
(c) CLARIFYING THE IMMIGRANT INTENT PROVISION.� Subsection (b) of

Guys, thank you so much for your replies. Thanks for giving me the ideas on how to address the letter. My parents cannot read/write/speak English (not a single word), so I thought it would be nice for them to have a letter to show at the port of entry. They are traveling with a boy from back home who is a student in a nearby university.
One more question if you guys do not mind, my parents asked for visa to attend my graduation in Dec 07, but they could not come at that time. There were two reasons, 1. did not find somebody to travel with right away and 2. after a month or so, my grandma got sick and was in hospital for a long time. She passed away a month ago. Do you think my parents will have trouble at the port of entry as they did not come for graduation and coming after so many months? Thanks.

I have had situations where CIS has issued more than one RFE, but only about twice in 12 years of immigration practice.

If they never overstayed then USCIS has no case against them...get a lawyer to get them out..and then hire another lawyer to sue the USCIS. This is pure harrasment.

I didn't presser my parents about the bc and i took INS doctors appointment next week, thinking that dates are current for complete month why rush? so I can't file by tomorrow
You did the right thing. Nothing is going to retrogress atleast till the 15th of the month(this is when the Visa bulletin usually comes out).

Hi everyone:
I have an unusual situation concerning my friend's mother. When he got his green card (about 10 years ago) he filed the green card application for his mother that lived (and still lives) abroad, hoping to alleviate the woes of her getting a short-term traveller's visa every time she traveled to see him.
She received her green card about 4 years ago, but she doesn't want to live in the US for more than a month. Unfortunately it also gets more and more expensive for them to make her travel to US every year, thus pushing her into a violation of her Permanent Resident status and of the recurring Re-entry Permits (that now shrank to a single year).
My friend now wants to suggest his mother to relinquish (i.e. give up) her permanent status but his fear is that once done she will not be able to return back to US to visit him. (He has already become a citizen and is not planning to return to his home country.)
Does anyone here have any suggestions of what could happen if she gives up her permanent resident status?

One of my friends got B1 Visa(business visa, it�s valid for 10 years) through a company AAA in January 2008, still he is working for the same company in India, till now he didn't use his B1.
He applied H1-B through a company BBB, recently he received all his H1-B documents, his H1-B company suggested him to come to U.S on B1 and they want to file an amendment to change his status to H1 after coming to US.
My friend want to resign the company in this month and he want to go for training after resigning his job, it will take 2 months for completing the training.
He is planning to come to U.S in February 2009 on B1.
Could any one please help us with your valuable suggestions for the following questions?
Is it possible to come to U.S on B1 even after resigning the job?
Is there any possibility that the company revoke his B1?
What are the documents required to come to U.S on B1?

Thanks for this Jason. I've often wondered why Olympus and Pentax haven't stepped up and gotten in the dslr market with the other big boys. My first camera was a Pentax K1000 (which I still have) and it was great. When I first decided to get into the dslr game myself I was disappointed to find so few choices of manufacturers.
It's good to see Olympus getting in the game. They've always had a solid product and I'm sure they will work out their design flaws.
