I like this one! I tried that a while back but it wasn't as successful as yours. Maybe the keyboard would be better positioned not quite so close to the left hand edge imo. Well done though!
Same issue of lack of sun over here, too. I like the feel of this posed shot. I think it would be a bit stronger if the watch face were more visible. It's kind of hard to tell if the time is the same. Shooting this with something like a pocket watch on the sundial would be interesting, too. Similar shape but different "mechanisms".

Something a bit more classic with mechanical movement...though I do appreciate the contrast between the sundail and digital. I also wonder how a rectangular crop would look that brought us in closer to the sundail and the watch.

However, it's a moot point as I'm fresh out of pocket watches at the moment! :) I've been waiting for some sun and me being here to reshoot it. Had to do it from the other side as it was 2 pm before the opportunity arose and maybe the background isn't as good, also tried a lower viewpoint this time.

That $130k will all go to the lawyers, even if he is able to establish that he has a legal "right" to sell those parts, and I think that'll be a challenge.

Too bad I can't find a store that has an iPad 2, due to all of the Asians buying them up every morning and exporting them (do they have an export license? I think not). I've been told the local foreign college students can send them back to their parents in China or Vietnam who then sell them for a $1000 profit.
You ain't kidding. I drive by an Apple Store every morning for work, and there are always the same three Asian college - age students waiting outside 3 hours before opening. I assume they're there everyday hoping a new shipment came in overnight. I'm in the wrong line of work.

The MS products have more functionality for sure ... question is if really everyone needs everything from that functionality. For most home users and even some business users iWorks does everything they need and is therefore a cheaper option that does the trick. Many business customers (and few home users) need stuff that iWork does not offer, but MS Office does.
Bottom line: depends on your use case -> bold statements like Product A is better then B are rarely true since it usually depends on many things.

Whether they actually believed it, honestly expected big loop holes to be eliminated, or were just messing with us is not entirely clear. In the end, it all added up to oceans of red ink where before we had ponds, and the economy just keeps getting more unstable. The optimal balance has yet to be discovered, but right now it looks like we are not getting any closer to it.

They should post a policy and ****ing stick to it, no special cases or exceptions.. NONE of this "because we felt like it" ********.
They need to post EVERY SINGLE REQUIREMENT in plain language and say explicitly which of the published policies the app did not meet and give an explanation as to why.
This kind of stuff is nothing but bad press for them, especially with all of the public backpedaling they've been doing when they reject someone with the attention of the media.
Also, They should not be able to deny developers access to certain APIs in order to keep their own products more competitive. (pinch to expand for that photo app that got rejected, in-app brightness control, etc.)
If Apple can't compete on their own programming and design merits, then they shouldn't be releasing applications in the store.

Apple is really disgusting me with this $#*(%&*( behavior. They really need to completely reevaluate their criteria and make it CRYSTAL EFFING CLEAR what IS and was IS NOT acceptable and then stand by it. None of this 'reject Google Voice because it duplicates functionality' and then 'approve the Opera web browser'. Reject an APP because it 'ridicules public figures' and then plead that the author to resubmit it once he's awarded a Pulitzer...

They certainly need to do better, but there is no such thing as "crystal effing clear" in the censorship of media content. They will never make all sides happy. They at least need to keep in line with their history as a company that promotes "Think Different" in their PR. Suppressing ideas and creativity certainly doesn't fall under that flag.

Why would Apple do what has failed all other manufactures during the time Apple's one model mantra have eaten sales from other manufactures?
Besides there is no correlation here. Many of those manufactures have failed due to having multiple poor models. It really doesn't matter if you have dozens of models if each one has crappy and different software.

My iphone 4 with 4.3 got it right this morning. My aunts 3g with 4.2 didn't and my brother's 3gs with something between 4.0.1 & 4.2 didn't get it right either. I think 4.3 has something to do with it changing automatically.

hell i think apple created the POD name in popular imagination.
they need to protect the product brand name POD from being brought down in value by companies like PODFITNESS and others, that use their name in it.
