Was at Brea this morning and it was pretty good. They received about 50 or so iPads with a lot of 16GB Black Wifi. I'd recommend getting there no later than 5:30 if you want to be in the top 15. First person in line arrived at 4:30 today. Insane.
Also, last word of advice on Brea, make sure you get INTO the mall. Find an employee entrance to enter through. The line starts AT THE APPLE STORE! Not outside the mall. Good luck.
Lastly, don't plan on picking one up at Best Buy. There is a huge list to get them already and Best Buy will not have inventory for quite some time.

I actually kind of like it. I think those of you complaining about the new look are forgetting some things.
Yes, there is a need to make apps look and function similarly, so that the user can find his/her way around, and iCal does that. All the buttons are similar, and they reside in similar, if not exactly the same positions as before.
BUT YOU CAN'T MAKE ALL PROGRAMS LOOK IDENTICAL!!! Why? because then you get confused as to which freaking program you're looking at! Remember when iTunes started looking exactly like Finder? That was crazy confusing. People who understand GUI creation know that to be efficient, your eye needs nicely defined targets, and if that nicely defined target happens to be a leather-textured header bar rather than the same freaking gray as every other program, then so be it.
And gosh, it actually a pretty good texture. It's not harkening back to the crappy jpeggy/giffy textures of Windows 3.1. (Though as an aside, I find it strange that Apple is trying to push the "full-screen" apps ala EVERY SINGLE WINDOWS INCARNATION as some sort of innovation.)
Edit: Though true to some comments, a nice, real looking, darker leather would be better than orange.

i just finished installing xp sp2 on vmware works fine....
just under device manager it tells me one unregonised hardware....the video card... any1 knows how to solve this?

Wow. I knew exactly what I did. I was fishing for an official response and noted I had planned, like every other year, to upgrade to the newest phone this summer. Instead of detailing exactly why the date was moved, I was told about Apple's plans not to release during June/July. I too purchased the iPhone 4 as soon as it was available, and in fact had it in my hands on the 23rd.
I don't know where this got off track onto how and when I pay my bill, but you don't need to jump on me for forwarding an email.

Where this got "off track" or rather on the track it should've been on in the first place is that clearly if your upgrade was pushed back it was from any number of things people have posted about for years now on the matter: bill payment, length of being a customer, level of account, etc... Your story is making less and less sense, and here's where actually thinking first comes in handy:
If a customer service rep told you that the iPhone had been delayed then either this was public knowledge, thus why forward the email to MacRumors, or this wasn't public knowledge, thus why would a first contact customer rep even know this let alone say anything about it?

I wonder if this new pricing scheme is being enabled by the record labels with lower wholesale pricing to Amazon (to try, yet again, to take power out of Apple's hands), or if Amazon is simply doing this at a loss?
Why would Amazon want to take a loss - to support non-Apple mp3 players?
For Apple, they are not making much, if any money - they always planned it as a break-even business - the real value was the content eco-system tied to their products (= value for customers).
Gain market share for Amazon. Like last year when they sold MP3 albums at a loss.

I lost a bigadv unit too. I think they will credit it back but it will take time.
i hope they do. we'll see.
in the meantime, i'm thinking about putting a few video cards in my 2006 mac pro to fold with - since it's only getting like 3500 ppd running the smp client. i know i'll have to run windows to do the GPU2 client for now, but it might be worth it.
does anyone know if this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814133304) card will work? and could i put 2 or 3 or 4 in there?
i hope they do. we'll see.

On the Software part of the wireless MM page, there is a picture that shows a stack of new options and a slightly redesigned preference pane - I hope those options aren't wireless-only, I just plugged in my MM and they aren't there.

Don't bet on it. IF AT&T gets them...trust me...the rates will go up.
Not if they're grandfathered in! AT&T has stated in their proposal papers to the FCC that they're going to honor the T-Mobile plans in contract even if they upgrade phones.

I think I have lost 7 -10k points from the 10th 11th and 12th instead of gaining ~60-70k pts. the 10th I had ~3420 the 11th was ~7200 and the 12th was ~3420. now it's ~3420, 0 and I think 0. Don't suppose it would do any good to complain since I don't have any "proof" of what happened.
Oh well it's just a "game" anyway :rolleyes: and as long as I'm doing something meaningfull that is what really counts anyway. I'm not smart enough to contribute to science myself so this is my way to add to our knowledge of the universe and life.
Anyway, happy Thanksgiving to everyone everywhere and may your points pile up.

Will they be able to "hack" your Mighty Mouse?

I know I'm going to get labeled as a mac zealot and linux apologist for asking this, but isn't it weird how the project spent ALMOST ALL OF ITS TIME looking for ways to crucify OS X/Linux, but they avoided MS like the plague, as if they were afraid to make them look bad?

Look... I don't want to be a hater or anything like that but I have a first generation Ipod Touch... I got it as a present for my birth day, a month latter my wife have an Iphone 4 for her birthday so she sold her 3gs that i used to compare with My phone, the nexus One, look guys I need to be honest here, I got FULL Flash in my phone since it came out in the app market , and so far NOT a single problem with it, I remember when Jobs says it is not possible for a mobile device to have flash blah, battery drain, blah, poor performance blah, blah, blah... Dude flash is Awesome on my Android phone! no lag, no battery fast drain fast, no problems!!! do you guys have any tiny little Idea how @$#%^ cool it is going to www.newgrounds.com on my phone!? do you know!? or just playing online games like the ones on www.arcadepod.com? plus most of the apps are free!!! including that pathetic flash converter browser Skyfire that by the way is being in Android app market for like forever already!!! also it is sad that you have to Root (aka jailbroke) to get 20% more "liberty" with your phone! I already "convert" 4 Iphone users to Android at my job (400 plus workers) the rest are just plain envious of what android is capable of!!! without ROOTING!!! ahhh and don't get me starting in what you can do with a Root Android phone... My next Phone will be the Android HTC G2 that once rooted you can "BOST" to the phone to its real power........... 1.4 ghz!!!!!!!!!!!! Apparently he had long term kidney disease... I thought he would have died in a cave years ago and no-one had found his body (we haven't seen him in the media for years).
Props to the US forces.
It's certainly good news... but might not mean very much. Al Qaeda was always more of a movement or 'franchise' than a hierarchical organisation with command and control.
I still think he died a long time ago (like 10 years) and the CIA hid his body to deny martydom and ease the occuapation of Afghanistan and Iraq. I mean, how "convienient" that they "have his body" now.
Like you indicate, it doesn't mean much now, martydom or not. But if I was the CIA, hmmm...maybe it's time to shift focus to Iran in some way rather than "hunt al queda". This has also got to be good news for arms dealers.
