If under the bullet point (b) you have an option to choose "other" then choose that.
EAD is not a status; pending I-485 allows you to be "legally present" in the country without having a "legal status". Similarly, AP allows you to travel out of the country and reutrn without abandoning your pending I-485 application. (At least that's what my understanding is .....)

So fine with me if this has already been discussed, Can we promote this and track it. Would it be too much to add a second thread that talks about contributions to IV when i look at 5 threads at the top of the list that all track LUD's :)

States accumulate spill over from Q1 to Q3 but doesnot apply. Those extra visas will not be given to any one .. Once gone from quarter then it cannot be given to any one. In last quarter it will go to Eb2 India.

It is applied on PD basis, so if PD for EB2-China is before EB2-India applicants, they will get the spillover. But the fact that # of applicants in EB2-C are lower than Eb2-I, EB2-I should get more beneficial spill as long as its done horizontally and not vertically.

Just a quick update for future readers incase they get in to a similar situation as mine. Upon finding out that "transportation letter" might be a possibility my wife approached the United States Embassy in New Delhi (Key here is Embassy) the reason I say that is TL's are issued from Dept of Homeland Security which is always based out of an Embassy outside the US and not consulates. One has the option of applying for this at a consulate but they turn around and send all the informtion to DHS (at the embassy). This just takes too much time. At the embassy it wasn't too much trouble or no convincing needed however just to get the process done and receive the paper work in hand it took a good 4 business days and persistance. Also once you receive a transportation letter it is recommended that you shoot for a non stop flight since the TL's are 2 copies in a sealed envelope (1 for the immigration from your departure destination and the other for your immigration at the port of entry) before issuing a TL the embassy will ask you for your port of entry since the TL is addressed to that port. Lastly they did not charge anything for this but upon reading some other old posts in some forums if you go to a consulate they charge $180 for this. Hope no one has to go through this but if you do above is a debrief of what to expect.

After QGA and IV and all of us sending so many faxes etc, they did not even mention about EB visa issue in the SJC.

in the least balming anyone. I for one feel IV has done exemplary work.
But the critical question is do we need to do anything different ?
Core memebers of IV, ragz4u et al, do you think we need to take a harder look and see if we are on the right path ? Did something not work as expected ? I read in one of the core memebrs post that IV members are in DC talking to senators office. Did senators office play ignorant in the SJC after being sympathetic to us ? What baffles me atleast, is the total
apathy and seeming ignorance to our issue on the part of senators. After all
our efforts. What went wrong ?

The priority dates cannot be ported during the I-140 stage. This can be done only during 485 filing where in you have two I-140s approved and a request can be made to use the earlier priority date.

I have posted the same issue in another thread but i did not get any response So I'm changing the title and reposting.
I have been working for my current employer from last 4 years.I have good relations with my employer.I have 140 approved and my 485 is pending for more than 180 days.Now I want to join any new employer using my EAD.But I don't want to invoke AC 21.If my dates are current again and if i get any RFE I will submit the offer letter from my old employer.
My case is I'm using EAD after 140 is approved and 485 is pending more than 180 days and joining a new employer.As GC is future employment I can always say that I will join my old employer when ever i get a GC.This way I can avoid AC 21. Also If my employer doesn't give me the offer letter I can still manage to get it from any Consulting firm with same job title and same salary.
Can any one suggest me on this?

Hello gurus,
need little help from you guys. Right now i am on H1b.
I am about to file my Family based I-485, I-130, I-765, I-131. on all these forms they are asking for A# ( Alien Registration Number).
I was on F1 visa before. so i have one expired EAD card which i got during my OPT in 2005. this card has a A#.
so should i put this A# on all forms( I-485,I-130,I-765,I-131) or leave it blank.???

You can give your OPT A# but once you're assigned a permanent visa number, they'll give you a different number. Your OPT A# is just a temporary number.

Hi Vikramy - Do you know of any particular reasons for these transfer denials? Also what could have been the reason in your case? Please explain if you have examples for the company starting with cognXXXXX, I just put my transfer papers in to join them.... :confused:

You can write a balance-transfer-cheque to your own name (which you can deposit to your checkings account) of amount upto your credit limit on that credit card.
I had 25k credit limit on my credit card, so i could balance-transfer that much. usually if you have a 3-4 years credit history, you can call up the credit card company and ask them to raise your credit limit.
Balance transfers - 0% APR are generally good for 9 months to 1 year loan only. So you will have to repay within a year. But you can keep doing that for 2-3 years till you pay off your complete loan.

predicting cir future has become semilar to the "visa bulletin prediction" nobody knows anything about it. For every article which says cir might happen there is an alternative article which points out why cir will not happen. There seems to be universal concensus that if cir is to become a reality it has to be passed by august september time frame after that it is political season and it will be lights out for CIR
