I dont think this ammendment will delay 485 as by the time they take a look at what ammendment is sent, your 485 might be approved :)

shreekhand, I think peshwa's comments are about right, its human psychology, the slaves organized and demanded their rights, but it took a long time to get that , but they were some among the slaves who did feel that they were going to get freedom from their masters if they really worked hard, do you think they would have gotten freedom if they had did just that ?

There is no rule/law that'll help you get a green card if you stay here for 10 years or even 50 years.

Honestly, some of us are waiting legally for more than 12 years for the green card. So, given our situation, your question tickled us.

How about a monthly membership of 5-10 dollars - that will be a recurring earning for IV, and as membership base grows, this can be the sustaining force.

I was in the same situation (got my MS degree after I had already started working) and I was told that I could not use my master's degree to apply in EB2. This is because if the company hired you when you didn't have a master's degree, obviously your job position does not require a master's degree. You still can use the degree if your green card job position is drastically different from your current position job-duties wise and if you can prove that it does, in fact, require a masters degree.

The Hritik Roshan, Govinda and Daniel Craig (James Bond) images in the user profile section of each post in forum threads are quite distracting. What's the point of this feature, anyways?
I would like to put a face to every alias I come across, but not Hritik's, Govinda's or Daniel Craig's even if the resemblance with you is shocking! :)
Just removed the small image I had in my signature as well.

I am not sure about others, but since IV changed the look of this webpage, something is discouraging me from being as active as i was before. I gave myself sometime to adjust but that does not seem to happen.
Admins, please do some stats on hits, number of posts by users etc and see how the new look impacted the site activity?
Two points that I am not a fan of:
1) The front page top 10 forum items still need to be improved. We need complete text display (wrapped if long), the tooltip is not working. I do not want to mouse over every thread to read it completely.
2) User images (i know i have one myself) are making the webpage cluttered and distracting from the real content.

hi boney. excellent advice so far. i'll just add that you should also take into account how one camera "feels" in your hands vs. another. you might use that as a tie-breaker or a major decision point in your purchase. but luckily for us most of the manufacturers have a different feel, including grip sizes, curves, location and operation of the controls, etc.

I just talked with DOL representative, he was very supportive and he asked me to fill WH4 and fax it to them and said they will take immediate action on this.
I just have one more question, my employer has branch in CA and NJ both states so which address I should mention in WH4? as I think both states have diff. rules.

Congrats and Best Wishes , It happened to my friend also, His PD is March 05 and got the approval on 10/29/08

Do not fret. Berkeleybee is still around but not as active on the forum because of extreme pressure at work. I can assure you that BerkeleyBee will be back as soon as the activity picks up to help us with all the stats and understanding the legal languages in the bill. I will make sure Bee is aware that IV members miss her. :)

On the infopass web site, there are four categories, and I can't relate to any of them. I don't have an SR because the rep refused to open one; I don't have a notice. Is it still possible to go for infopass?

Order from Immigration Court - If you were directed to us for processing based on an order from the Immigration Judge. You must bring all documents required in the post order instructions given to you by the court.
Case Processing Appointment - If you received a notice to go to your local office for further case processing.
EAD inquiry appointment - If your I-765 employment authorization application has been pending for more than 90 days.
Case Services follow-up appointment - If it has been over 45 days since you contacted NCSC and have not received a response to your inquiry. You must bring the Service Request ID Number related to your inquiry to the appointment.
