Are you more worried about losing money, or any other negative repercussions? Money? it is not significant in the overall picture.
Did you say in your second application that you were doing so because your checks on original application may be bad?
In any case, USCIS system should not allow to accept an application the second time.

AFAIK, for summer the courses can be part time. This was the case back in 2001 when i went for my masters.
Please check this with the school and your wife can take one evening class and be enrolled for atleast 3-4 months and move on to the F-1 Visa. Community college will be a good place to start, as she will not be spending a lot of money also.

I am sure you don't even have to be in the US to trade in US stocks. There are people that have never been to the US that participate actively in US stocks and just as Americans participate in some foreign markets too.

Hi Friends,
I am an July 2007 485 filer and did the biometrics within couple of months after that. Last year applied EAD and AP by paper filing so there was no biometrics.
May be its my wild hope... still..
If by any magic the processing dates moved by Oct. 2009 and I am current(:) I know its very little chance), as I am planning to apply my AP renewals now, is it good to do e-filing since it will trigger to do the biometrics also and there won't be any delay in the form of RFE's in regards to fingerprinting expiry or so?

Photographs are not big-deal. USCIS will RFE for them.

This happens from time to time dont know why but it happens.It happened for my wife too , we had efiled for EAD and her application status showed that notice(FP) returned as undeliverable. My wife wrote back to USCIS
saying that she had received all her prior communication from USCIS here
(for example we put in copies of 485 recipt notice,485 FP notice,EAD recipt notice) and it seems to a mistake of USPS. She also wrote to the Local Postmaster as to why the notice from USCIS was returned and in future all this should not reoccur. Within a day or two we got her EAD approved and recieved it in mail.
The point I am trying to make is that calling(it might not be the best option as lines are busy,reps dont have the info you would like etc) as well as writing does help when u know the where to send mail , we were lucky as we had efiled so it does specify where to send the application and docs .Good Luck.
In my case just now I called up again with POJ method got hold of nice IO. She took her own time to dig out all teh information rleated to my case and saught confirmation on many things like address name etc. After few minutes she said dont worry about the online status my case is assigned to officer. I hope whatever the outcome will be good.

Sadly fantastic as Photoshop is it's not vector based, so anything you export to Flash can end up looking weird and stretched.
Have you tried using Illustrator? It's very similar to Photoshop in the effects and tools that you have available, with the added advantage that is is vector based. So you can draw in Illustrator and then export it into a Flash movie.
The only thing I'd add to this is that sometimes it will throw up errors about .eps files (no idea why) and you have to export it as a .swf and import that into Flash. Either way though, this should solve the problem.

I opened a service request last week regarding the pending I 485 case. Today I got the following letter in mail. "We are actively processing your case. However we have to perform additional review on this case. Contact us after 6 months." . When I opened a SR last year I got the same response.
I was wondering is this a standard SR reply or is the case really under additional review ? I know my name check got cleared long back ( info pass ). I think additional reviews are done by Department of Homeland Security and probably USCIS put the case on hold until DHS clear the case. Since my case is in limbo for over a year, is there any way to speedup the "additional review" process ?? I am thinking of sending all the "additional review" mails I got along with the case details to senators. Please let me know if anybody got any better ideas.

My H1B and my wife's H4 visa were recently renewed for 3 additonal years. We also got new visas stamped in our passport valid for 3 years based on these H1B & H4 renewals.
Now I am planning to change jobs and will be applying for H1B transfer. My questions are:
- do I need to submit an application for transfer (new I797) for my wife's H4 visa
- can my wife travel out of US and then back into US on her current H4 visa while my H1B transfer application is being processed by INS.

No You do not transfer H4. There is no tranfer for H4!. The h4 will be valid still the I-94 validity provided H1 is in status.

Since his i140 is approved he should be eligible for H1B 3 yrs extension. I think it does not matter even if has changed employer.

Meanwhile, planning to use InfoPass to meet with IO.
Why notice to deny was not sent to me is puzzling me. No RFE's.
I have lost 2 years as the status all the time is case received and pending (checked few minutes before too).
Make sure you save a copy of status showing pending today.
